One of atWork Australia’s great success stories is that of Adam Abdelrahman. Adam arrived in Australia in 2013. Born in Sudan, Adam sporadically attended education until Grade 6. He went on to complete a Certificate II in Spoken and Written English in 2019 and then a Certificate III in Security Operations.
Adam lives with back pain caused by a bulging disc in the lumbosacral joint, nerve impingement and arthritis as well as depression. As a result, Adam was able to seek assistance from a disability employment service, and chose to approach atWork Australia for help finding his dream role.
With the help of Disability Employment Services job coach, Brad, who has a strong background in security operations, Adam received his security license and has been happily employed by a local security company where he thoroughly enjoys his role.
“It has been an enjoyable experience working with Adam, and changing his career and his life for the better. Adam now appears a lot happier. I have seen him at his workplace and he is really well-suited to the industry,” Brad said.
