THIS year the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra (GVCO) will present its annual concert as an afternoon concert at 2pm on Saturday, June 18. The concert carries the sub-title, “The Birds”, because many, but not all, of the works on the program have the name of a bird in their title.
Music director, Steven Sargant, has been rehearsing the Orchestra for several months in preparation for their annual concert performance.
The Orchestra provides musical opportunities for local musicians and some not so local musicians who all come together for weekly rehearsals in Shepparton every Thursday evening.
GVCO are excited to present two premier performances of works commissioned by the Orchestra and composed by GVCO members, Wade Gregory and Eric Andersen. Eric has also arranged a collection of five Ukrainian Folk Songs which GVCO will present in support of all Ukrainian people.
The concert will also include a performance from local choir, “36 Degrees South”, under the direction of Wade Gregory.
