AWARD-WINNING Yorta Yorta musician Benny Walker will return to The G.R.A.I.N. Store in Nathalia, bringing his full five-piece band for the first time in more than a decade, in a special family-centred performance titled A Walker Family Show.
Set for Sunday, June 28, the afternoon event will also feature Walker’s cousin, acclaimed singer-songwriter Madi Colville-Walker, with organisers promising an intimate celebration of music, storytelling and family connection.
Audiences are invited to gather around an outdoor fire, enjoy a barbecue and settle in for a winter afternoon of live music. Weather permitting, performances will take place under the winter sky outside the gallery, with an indoor setup available if required.

Benny Walker, a Yorta Yorta man from Echuca, is recognised as one of Australia’s most compelling live performers, known for blending blues, roots and contemporary soul with powerful storytelling and strong ties to Country. His tracks SAVE and Oh No You Don’t both reached No. 1 on the AMRAP charts, with Oh No You Don’t earning four NIMA nominations and contributing to his win for Best Aboriginal Talent at the Age Music Victoria Awards. He is currently in the studio working on his fifth album, Heart Line.
The G.R.A.I.N. Store Manager Kim Carter said the venue was thrilled to welcome Walker.
“Benny Walker is an artist sure to impress our audiences new and old,” Ms Carter said. “We are thrilled to be welcoming him back to Nathalia with the full band after such a long time.”
Joining Walker on stage is his cousin Madi Colville-Walker, a proud Yorta Yorta woman whose songwriting and emotive vocal style have earned growing recognition across the Australian music scene. She has performed alongside artists including Archie Roach, Kutcha Edwards and Fanny Lumsden, and was a finalist for the 2021 Music Victoria Archie Roach Award for Emerging Talent.
“Madi spent some of her early career years testing material in front of our wonderfully supportive music lovers here at G.R.A.I.N. Store,” said The G.R.A.I.N. board member Kristen Retallick. “To now see both her and Benny returning together for this show feels like a great time to get out and see our venue doing what it does best – bringing people together time and time again.”
The performance is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, the Regional Arts Victoria Small Regional Presenters Fund and the 10,000 Gigs Fund.
