HYDIE Blooms Florist in Mooroopna have published a children’s book, The Apricot Flower Shop, inspired by real-life people who have been a part of their journey.
“I feel like flower shops create this community through just shared experiences with our customers. We have people that might pop in once a week or every couple of days, and a real community is built around small businesses, especially flower shops,” said Hydie Bloom owner Lauren Kiss.

“It’s a beautiful story about community and everyone coming together and the friends you make with your customers and the stories about people’s lives, as corny as it sounds. It really is a story about community and connection. And at the end of the day, that’s what a flower shop is.”
The Apricot Flower Shop has been in the works for a little while and was launched to celebrate their fifth year in business. Illustrated by Eva Geerling, you can find copies in store or on their website, https://hydieblooms.com.au/products/the-apricot-flower-shop.
