THE fire protection industry might traditionally be associated with technicians and trades, but behind the scenes at FWSR Group is a diverse team of women working across almost every area of the business.
From training and estimating to project coordination, scheduling, accounts, marketing, business development and administration, women play an important role in supporting FWSR Group’s operations.
For many, their current role looks quite different to where they started.
Training Manager Anna Morris initially joined FWSR Group in a Finance and HR role before moving into the company’s nationally recognised training division and ultimately taking on its leadership.
“Working here has allowed me to expand my skills and venture into a new career pathway that I never thought I would venture into. I get to pass on my current skills and knowledge gained from many years in finance and admin industries to the next generation, whilst also expanding my own skillset with new opportunities to learn,” Anna said.
Tamara Ismail began in scheduling and has since expanded her role into project administration and coordination, developing new skills and gaining exposure to another side of the business.
“Growth begins when you step beyond what you know,” said Tamara. “My journey from scheduling into project administration and coordination has challenged me to learn, adapt, and see the business from a whole new perspective.”
Their experiences are reflected across the business. Since joining FWSR Group five years ago, Dannielle Murdoch has progressed to now lead estimating for Essential Safety Measures contracts, with many others also developing new skills, moving into different areas and taking on new responsibilities.
As FWSR Group has grown, so too have the opportunities available to its people – whether that’s stepping into leadership, developing expertise in a new field or discovering an entirely new career pathway.
