LEADER of the Nationals, the Hon David Litteproud MP and Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell MP, met community members of Rochester at the Flood Recovery Hub last Wednesday to discuss the ongoing effects to small businesses and mental health in the region.

Rochester was one of the hardest communities hit by last October’s floods. Residents and businesses are seeking an ongoing commitment to help rebuild the town.

“It was very fruitful. Having (David) Littleproud with (Sam) Birrell here today was a great experience for us to advocate on what our needs are, and I’m sure they’ll take our voices with them to Canberra,” said chair of the community recovery committee Leigh Wilson.

“Local government is here on the ground, but they need the help of the state and federal government. Not just in the immediacy, but in the years after as well. So, it’s important that we’re here and understanding the recovery and what else needs to be done,” said Nationals leader David Littleproud MP.
