THERE’S no place like home, and Greater Shepparton City Council, through its destination brand Shepparton & Goulburn Valley, is encouraging locals and visitors to connect and enjoy the region and stay ‘Home for the Holidays’.

From Saturday 16 to Sunday 1 October, locals, their friends and relatives, are invited to experience some of the home-grown activities available in Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley and enjoy special events and happenings at local venues.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council was looking forward to seeing people get behind the activation and experience the best things Greater Shepparton has to offer.

“We invite residents staying ‘Home for the Holidays’ to have family and friends over, and share the wonderful experiences available in the region,” he said.

“You don’t have to travel far to find great food and drinks and enjoy family activities. These types of activities are a great opportunity to encourage people to consume local, activate the economy and discover new things to do in their own community.”

On Saturday 23 September, there will be a very special bus doing the rounds, running on a loop from 10am to 5pm, departing from the Shepparton Train Station and stopping at Emerald Bank, SAM and KidsTown. Special activities and offers will be available at venues on the day.

SAM will be hosting a ‘Spring Camp’ for the kids (bookings essential on the SAM Website), with ‘Giant Games’ and the Sprout Edible Garden available at KidsTown. At Emerald Bank, mini golf will be available at a discounted price of $13 for adults and $11 for kids, and MOVE is offering 20 percent off adult entry and family admissions (two adults and up to four dependents).

Residents can book their place on the bus at no cost through the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley website at https://sheppandgv.com.au/events/special-events/out-and-about. Spaces are limited, so bookings are required.
