Community grants close soon

TIME is running out to apply for funding under Council’s community grant program. Applications for Round One of the 2022/23 program close on Monday, August 29, with a total of six categories open for applications:

  • Our Sporting Future Grant
  • Community Matching Grant
  • Community Sustainability Grant
  • Minor and Major Events Grant
  • Small Town Festive Events Grant
  • Seniors’ Festival Grant.

With limited time left to apply, mayor Shane Sali urges community groups, service clubs and sporting organisations to check their eligibility.

“These grants might be the difference between an event going ahead or an upgrade taking place, so I encourage all local clubs or groups to consider applying,” he said.

The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Shepparton Shotgun Club were recent recipients of Our Sporting Future Grant, which club secretary, Tony Connell, said allowed them to make major improvements at the shooting range.

“We wouldn’t have been able to do the work that we have done without getting the grants from Council,” said Mr Connell.

An information session will be held online tonight before applications close on Monday, August 29. For more information and to register, visit https://greatershepparton.com.au/grants-and-funding/
