COVID-19 Update: Vaccination ‘Get the Jab Done’, Active Cases, Getting Tested & Testing Locations

Vaccination
In Shepparton region 18 October, more than 95% of eligible people have had their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination while 72.2% have had a second dose.

Since GV Health launched ‘Get the Jab Done’ last week to vaccinate the 5,000 eligible people who had not received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 2,482 people have had their first dose. Thank you to these people. However, there is still 2,518 people eligible for vaccination that we are encouraging to make an appointment to Get the Jab Done.

Data shows that 81% of people hospitalised in Victoria with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, and 91% of those in ICU with COVID-19 are unvaccinated. Vaccination is the best way to protect you and your loved ones from COVID-19.
GV Health’s Vaccine Hub is located in the McIntosh Centre at Shepparton Showgrounds and opening hours are:
• Monday to Saturday 9:00am–4:00pm
• Tuesday 9:00am – 9:00pm

Active Cases
There are 233 active cases of people with COVID-19 in the Greater Shepparton LGA across over 100 separate households. Note that a number of people classified as positive cases have been cleared in recent days and have been released from quarantine.
There have been 33 new active cases of people with COVID-19 in the Greater Shepparton LGA. As of Tuesday, 22 of the new cases were linked to people that have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days while 11 are under review.

Transmission between households remains a major concern. People should note the current directions that restrict movement between households and only do so if it is for a permitted reason.
There have been additional positive cases that are being reviewed and further information will be shared tomorrow.

As of Tuesday morning, there were six people admitted at GV Health with COVID-19.
Getting Tested

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell), headache should get tested immediately. Please note, some people with COVID-19 have reported symptoms of nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea with an accompanying headache so please don’t dismiss these symptoms.

Do not delay getting a test for COVID-19 and stay at home until you receive your test result.
