Elevate yourself this summer

THERE’S something about drinking on a rooftop that is at least 20 per cent more fun than drinking at street level. The same goes with eating, and if you’re drinking, it’s best you eat something, too.

It wasn’t too long ago that the only thing that hung out on a rooftop was wet laundry. Now, there are rooftop gardens, rooftop bars, and rooftop cafes. The rooftop has become a special space, open to the sky while hidden from the street.

In Shepparton, an old favourite venue has renovated its rooftop space to include a beautiful bistro.

The SKKY Bar, on the corner of Fryers and Wyndham Streets, now serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the kitchen open from 7am through till 9.30pm.
Local chef Lebe Luzuriaga has come on board and is joined by pastry chef Sherin Joseph. Downstairs: A café and pastry bar with street dining, while upstairs: A bistro.
The venue is worth checking out just for its ambience, overlooking the intersection of the heart of Shepparton’s CBD.
SKKY Bistro and Party Bar is not all party. That’s for later on in the evening. It’s a quiet, intimate spot. Check it out at 269-275 Wyndham Street, Shepparton, or call on 0470 350 114.
