AS A Catholic school following the traditions and charism of St. Francis of Assisi, St Mary of the Angels Secondary College in Nathalia takes responsibility to care for the land and treat the environment with respect.
St Mary of the Angels Secondary College Principal, Matt Carver said, “Pope Francis, during the year of Mercy called us to be stewards of the land and the environment. We are also called to act with humility, compassion and forgiveness. This is a challenge to all of us as members of a greater community.
“As we move closer to Catholic Education Week and the College Open Day on May 18, we have been gifted the opportunity to ponder the essence of our College; who we are and ‘what is our purpose’?
“St Mary of the Angels College is an authentic, viable and active learning community. Our College provides Catholic education to approximately 685 students under the pastoral guidance of the Bishop of Sandhurst; Shane Mackinlay DD.
“Our College has a rich heritage and tradition since being established in 1961 by the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood. This history and tradition encompasses the values of St. Francis and St Clare of Assisi including peace and joy, integrity, justice and love of creation. The College’s vision embraces students, staff, parents and families drawing on the gospel values to build a community of learners that is faith-filled, inclusive and life giving.
