WEEKEND FOOTBALL... Josh Alford kicks forward. Photo: Wayne Herring

KYABRAM V BENALLA
Having not lost a home and away fixture since the end of 2015, the reigning premier has already lost twice in season 2021.
Last weekend, the Bombers were taken down by one of the surprise packets of 2021.
And, today they host the Saints.
They know they can’t afford to give Kyabram a six-goal start like they did to Euroa.
If they do that, then they will struggle. Tip: Kyabram

ECHUCA V MANSFIELD
Echuca look to be building nicely towards an assault on this year’s premiership.
Many pundits had the Eagles finishing down the bottom this season.
I believe the Eagles can push the Murray Bombers, but in the end the home team will get the points. Tip: Echuca

TATURA V UNITED
This is a game between two evenly matched teams I believe.
I have seen the Demons twice this season – both against quality opposition and the most noticeable Achilles heel appears to be the lack of key target in the forward line. Tip: United

ROCHESTER V MOOROOPNA
This promises to be a really good game between two teams that want to figure in September.
I believe the foundations for last weekend were set the week before against Echuca.
On the other hand, the Cats are starting to really understand the game plan of new coach John Lamont.
For mine, the team that can play four consistent quarters will win this game. Tip: Rochester

SHEPPARTON V SEYMOUR
Seymour will be looking to make it 5-0 today when they travel to the home of where the grand final will be played.
It will be a good opportunity for some the Lions to get familiar with the “D” where they hope to be playing in September. Tip: Seymour

EUROA V SWANS
Euroa will be out to consolidate its place in the top six when its host the Shepparton Swans.
The Magpies have only had the one slip-up this season – a narrow loss to Seymour. Tip: Euroa
