Motorists will continue to receive a discount on fuel excise for another month beyond the June 30 deadline, although the saving will be reduced from July 1.
The Federal Government has announced the fuel excise reduction will continue through July at 16 cents per litre, down from the current 32 cents per litre discount introduced in April in response to rising global oil prices.
The scaled-back discount is intended to ease the transition back to the full fuel excise rate and help avoid a surge in fuel purchases before the original deadline.
