1Mt Major, Dookie

A popular destination for both walkers and mountain bike enthusiasts, Mount Major in Dookie is must-do experience. Mulana nin iyoga (Yorta Yorta for ‘Spirit of the Stone’) is a 4.6km (return) walking trail on the northern side of Mount Major, while the southern side has a great network of mountain bike trails. Breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside can be seen from the summit.

2Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton

Within the centre of the city of Shepparton lies Victoria Park Lake, a tranquil, picturesque area popular with visitors and locals for walking, cycling, picnics, fishing, bird watching and outdoor games. The older kids will be thrilled by the Skate Park and Flying Fox while the younger kids will be entertained by the popular playground. Across the lake, Western Park offers an All-Abilities Playground nestled among bushlands.

One of four Heritage Rivers in Victoria, The Goulburn River is popular for fishing, canoeing and camping in the nearby Lower Goulburn National Park and the Shepparton Regional Park. The Yanha Gurtji Shared Pathway is over 40km in length and the network connects our CBD, Victoria Park Lake precinct, Aquamoves and KidsTown to the Goulburn River.

This walking tour will give you the chance to discover some of the tracks in the area known as ‘The Flats’ located between the Peter Ross-Edwards Causeway and the Goulburn River on the south side. It is a 3.54 km walk with care to be taken during warmer months due to snakes.
