ONE of regional Australia’s biggest shopping competitions is back, with local shoppers set to be rewarded for supporting local businesses during the 2026 GMCU $25,000 Giveaway.

Running from Wednesday, June 3 to Sunday, July 26 the popular annual competition will see a record 58 winners announced, thanks to GMCU and The Shepparton Adviser.

This year, shoppers have the chance to win a share of $25,000 in prizes, including the major prize of $5,000 in GMCU gift cards, plus a $500 consolation prize.

Weekly prizes will also be awarded throughout the competition, with 10 shoppers each week winning $250 simply by spending $10 or more at participating businesses. Every eligible entry also goes into the draw for the major prize.

Participating businesses will also benefit, with one local business winning a $1,000 prize each week for six weeks, plus one $500 prize.

Approximately 150 local businesses are already involved in this year’s giveaway, which has historically provided a significant boost to local trade by encouraging shoppers to support businesses within their community.

Entering is easy. Simply spend $10 or more at any participating business, scan the QR code displayed in-store or visit the Giveaway website to upload a photo of your receipt along with your contact details.

Last year’s major winner was Numurkah local, Lee Lythgo, who won $5,000 from a $200 grocery shop at Riverside Plaza’s Coles — the equivalent of 25 grocery shops if spent the same way. Shepparton’s Lauren Gray took home the $500 consolation prize by shopping at Big W in the Shepparton Marketplace.

Local businesses wanting to get involved in one of the region’s biggest results-driven shopper competitions are encouraged to get in touch now by calling 5832 8900 or emailing melanie.spencer@sheppartonadviser.com.au.

Keep an eye out for promotional posters appearing in stores and don’t miss the full 2026 GMCU $25,000 Giveaway feature in The Adviser on June 10, including details on all participating businesses and where to shop.
