“Clubs and Groups across Nicholls rely on the selfless work of Volunteers and these grants aim to give volunteers a much-needed hand up.”

“Community groups, projects services and events could not go ahead without the efforts of volunteers,” he said.

Eligible not-for-profit community groups can apply for grants between $1k and $5k. That can be used for to buy new equipment, cover the cost of fuel, assist with training for volunteers, support volunteer safety, and help conduct activities to promote and increase participation in the Goulburn Valley.

Expressions of interest open Tuesday, August 1, 2023, and close Monday, September 4, 2023. Mr Birrell said organisations can request an EOI form by emailing, sam.birrell.mp@aph.gov.au

EOI’s will be assessed by a community panel, and those eligible will be invited to submit an application form to the Department of Social Services.
