Grants to promote inclusiveness

PEOPLE living with disabilities in the community can now apply for a 2023 Community Grant from WDEA Works Foundation.

The foundation, which has distributed over $1.5M across the state since its inception in 2004, is committed to reducing barriers for people living with disabilities to participate in community life through targeted group activities.

“We believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive and contribute to their community, and our 2023 Community Grants through the WDEA Works foundation is one way we can support those who face barriers. We are excited to see the positive impact these grants will have, and we look forward to working alongside our community partners to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all,” said Tom Scarborough, CEO of WDEA Works.

Applications close Friday, April 15 at 5pm. Successful recipients will be announced on Monday, May 15. To be eligible, applicants must be located within a WDEA Works geographical area, and the activity or project must benefit people in the community experiencing disability or disadvantage.

“We encourage all eligible organisations to apply for a WDEA Works Foundation Community Grant,” said Scarborough. “Together, we can help reduce barriers and promote inclusiveness in regional communities.”
