Closing a remarkable 50-year career in education, Greater Shepparton Secondary College Executive Principal Barbara O’Brien will retire in January 2027. A dedicated and passionate educator, Ms O’Brien has held leadership roles across numerous local schools before taking on the executive principal position at GSSC in 2020. She led the college through the implementation of the Shepparton Education Plan, one of regional Victoria’s most significant education reforms, and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. North East Victoria Regional Director Karen Money praised Ms O’Brien’s inspirational leadership, kindness and commitment to achieving better outcomes for young people.
