GVL Netball round 18 by Sam Saracino

SHEPPARTON UNITED V SEYMOUR
The stakes are huge for these two teams as they look to sure up a top two finish. For the Lions even if they get beaten by United, they will finish in the top two unless they suffer a big defeat which in turn impacts their final percentage. While Shepparton United could still remain in third spot if loses, but there is a chance it could drop to fourth on the table if Echuca can win and then bridge the percentage gap. I expect the Demons to come out breathing fire and if they can play four strong quarters, I can see them sneaking home in a thriller.
Tip: Shepparton United.

BENALLA V EUROA
Euroa will play finals which is a fantastic achievement and it will be looking to fine tune its game ahead of an elimination final. The Pies were strengthened by the return of playing coach Ellie Warnock and key defender Bridget Hill last weekend and them playing another game which hold them in good stead for the intensity of a final a week later. It will be close, but I am going for the Pies to take winning form into the finals.
Tip: Euroa.

TATURA V MANSFIELD
These two teams will be looking to go into the summer with a win when their season officially ends after round 18. Tatura has won the one game this season and Mansfield is yet to taste success in 2022. Steph Smith-Gorrie and Elsie Boyer were Tatura’s two standouts in their loss to Seymour last weekend. If they can again lead the way, then the Bulldogs should claim the win.
Tip: Tatura.

MOOROOPNA V ECHUCA
Mooroopna will be eager to win and protect its place in the top two when it welcomes Echuca today in what was looms as another finals-type contest. The Cats were outstanding in getting past Euroa last weekend while the visitors were brilliant in inflicting defeat on Shepparton United. This promises to be a ripper contest and I am going to go with the home team to win in a thriller.
Tip: Mooroopna.

KYABRAM V SHEPPARTON SWANS
Kyabram and Shepparton Swans will be looking to finish their seasons with a win. Both teams are unable to qualify for the finals, but will be looking to make it two wins on the bounce to end 2022.I think Kyabram might be able to get the win in a tight contest.
Tip: Kyabram.

ROCHESTER V SHEPPARTON
Shepparton will be looking to end its home and away season with a win when it goes on the road to Rochester. The Tigers are done for 2022 after suffering a narrow loss to the Swans and the Bears getting the job done against Benalla in a two-goal thriller. I think the Tigers will push the Bears all the way, but it will be the visitors in front at the final whistle.
Tip: Shepparton
