GOULBURN Valley League’s underage representative netballers had a clean sweep of the North East Association Championships in Albury on Sunday, May 24.
The GVL netballers claimed the 17 & under Championship, 15 & Under Championship and the 15 & Under Reserve titles in what was a stunning achievement from the local young women.
The 15 & Under Reserve team, coached by Amy Woodman, beat Albury Netball Association in the final after topping their pool and powering through a big semi–final win. The 15 & Under Championship side, coached by Courtney Simpson, took out a tight final against Ovens & Murray, in a gritty performance filled with class from the young ladies. The 17 & Under team, coached Amy Marshall, after dropping one game in the qualifiers, turned the tables to defeat Albury Netball Association in the grand final.
All three teams now join our GVL Open squad at the State Finals in Melbourne on Sunday, June 21.
