Amongst those recipients were a few locals from the Greater Shepparton and Strathbogie Shire regions. Lead auctioneer at Dairy Livestock Services Australia Brian Leslie of Kialla received the Order of Australia for his service to the dairy cattle industry, while former politician Patrick John McNamara of Nagambie received the Order of Australia for significant service to rowing, to the Parliament of Victoria, and to the community through a range of roles.

Goulburn Valley Health’s divisional clinical director of mental health services and associate professor of psychiatry with the Department of Rural Health Dr Ravi Bhat has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the general division for his significant service to medicine and to rural psychology.

Congratulations to all in our community who received this great honour.
