INSPIRA Kids Early Learning Centre Shepparton held a smoking ceremony to welcome their new Australian, Indigenous and Torres Strait Island flags, which are proudly hung in their foyer. The flags were intentionally hung in the window at the front of the building for the community to see the service as a culturally safe environment for all the children and their families.

The ceremony was planned to highlight the importance of belonging to country and the national identity among our families and community. Inspira Kids Shepparton is actively involved in the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan and having three flags of country in the service provides a visual statement to the commitment they have moving forward as a community.
Federal Member for Nicholls, Sam Birrell MP, was welcomed into the centre as thanks for providing the flags.
