WITH over 18 years’ retail experience, a BA of accounting and finance and a MBA under his belt, Mr Sampath Hathurusinghe is leading the way as store manager of Fairleys SUPA IGA Shepparton.

Mr Hathurusinghe is a proud father of three, including a newborn baby girl named Yenushi and two older children, Resandhu and Yenuli.

The family migrated here from London in 2016 so Mrs Hathurusinghe could complete her doctorate at Charles Sturt University in NSW, and they arrived here in Shepparton in May this year. Mr Hathurusinghe has had extensive experience with UK supermarket giant Tesco during his time overseas, preparing him well for his new role with Fairleys SUPA IGA Shepparton.

The Shepparton store employs over 200 locals, with 65 percent of those being high-school students experiencing their first foray into the working world.

The store has a focus on supporting the local community and providing their customers with fresh produce, locally sourced wherever possible.

“We buy direct from local farmers and have a bakery and butchery on-site, providing fresh food is our priority,” said Mr Hathurusinghe.

“Local produce is abundant here in the Goulburn Valley and we believe in supporting our farmers through both purchasing their items to sell and also donating our excess stock back to them so they may feed their animals, thereby reducing waste and improving our carbon footprint.”

With a café, Australia Post Office and Tattslotto agency also in-store, Fairleys SUPA IGA has all your shopping, banking, and lunch needs sorted. Visit Fairleys SUPA IGA at 177-193 Numurkah Rd, Shepparton.
