THE long-debated question of who would win in a race between Spiderman, Supergirl, the Ninja Turtles, the Incredibles, a Minion and Geelong Cats AFL great, Joel Selwood, was settled at Verney Road primary schools’ annual fun run last week. With fun and excitement, along with the students themselves declared clear winners.

Roughly 230 students draped in costumes and smiles completed six to eight laps, 240m in length, over 30-minute increments, totalling between 1.5km – 2km ran for each student. With a week of fundraising to go, they have managed to gather $2000, which will go towards improving the outdoor playground facilities and to supply the students with more equipment for their recess and lunch breaks in the yard.
When the dust settled, the caped crusaders enjoyed some well-deserved icy poles before heading back to their classrooms until the challenge of the Fun Run calls to them again.
