DUE to vacancies, Shepparton Foodshare (Foodshare; SF) are seeking expressions of interest (EoI) from suitably experienced people to be considered for appointment to its board of directors.

Established in 2012, Foodshare remains the only local food rescue agency. A spokesperson says SF has distributed 3.4M kilos of food, or the equivalent of 6.8M meals, to people in need and has redirected over 3M kilograms of edible food from landfill.

SF are seeking EoI’s from people with one of more of the following qualities: commercial building/construction experience; proficient experience in business, legal, or accounting; prior board service in the not-for-profit sector; multicultural relations/leadership; and/or marketing and communications.

Board members are volunteers who provide governance and strategic leadership to the organisation. Comprised of people with a wide range of skills and experience, SF can appoint two new directors for a term of one year.

Board members are expected to attend and actively participate in monthly meetings (generally up to two hours); stay informed about board matters, prepare for meetings, and comment on minutes and reports where necessary; serve on sub-committees as necessary; attend events or meetings and represent SF as necessary; support fundraising initiatives; utilise own skills, experience, knowledge, or networks to support the success of SF and to foster existing or build new necessary partnerships and relationships.
