MEMBER for Northern Victoria, Wendy Lovell is calling for clarity around the progression of planning for Stage 2 of Goulburn Valley Health’s redevelopment.
In a constituency question to the Minister for Health, Martin Foley in State Parliament recently, Ms Lovell sought an immediate update on the status of Stage 2 of the GV Health redevelopment and again called for the GV Health Masterplan to be released to the public.
Ms Lovell said when Mr Foley visited GV Health in January he was spruiking the Government’s funding of $2M for planning of Stage 2 of the redevelopment, yet this funding was announced in May 2019 as part of the 2019-2020 State Budget.
Two and a half years later, there is still no clarity on the progression of Stage 2 and the Minister needs to explain the status of this vital infrastructure project.
Ms Lovell said, “The Andrews Labor Government has continuously treated the Goulburn Valley community with contempt by refusing to release the GV Health Masterplan or update the public on the status of Stage 2 of the hospital redevelopment.
“The full redevelopment of GV Health is crucial to meet the healthcare needs of the Goulburn Valley region and I again call on the Minister to update the public on the progression of Stage 2 and finally release the Masterplan to provide certainty for the community.”
