BUILDING on the success of its first multi-lingual tours in 2025, Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) will launch Mandarin-speaking monthly tours of current exhibitions beginning on Saturday, April 11.

Led by local Mandarin speaker Stella Sun, the tours will be entirely in Mandarin, broadening access to the museum’s exhibitions and artworks for the local Mandarin-speaking community.

In April, the tour will focus on the current exhibition Nyini Woka (My Place), which features artworks from the Carrillo and Ziyin Gantner Collection of Australian Indigenous Art, alongside recent works by Yorta Yorta artists. Tickets for the tour cost $6 per person; children aged 12 years and under may attend for free. Places in the tour can be booked at www.sheppartonartmuseum.com.au/event.

April also sees the return of SAM Autumn Camp, the museum’s popular school holiday workshop series. Running from Monday to Friday, April 13-17, the broad programs, designed for kids and teens aged 5-17 years, range from watercolour to pottery and encourage kids to learn new skills while expressing themselves creatively.

Two free drop-in sessions will also be hosted at Kialla Central Hall and Congupna Community Centre, with SAM staff travelling in the new SAM Van to take the programs out further into our region and closer to rural families.

Registrations are essential (excepting the drop-in sessions in Kialla and Congupna). For more details, visit www.sheppartonartmuseum.com.au.
