Greater Shepparton City Council has advised that the second stage of construction works to upgrade the stormwater drainage network along Marungi Street, Shepparton, commenced on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Marungi Street is open, with the section of road eastbound from the Nixon/Marungi Street roundabout closed for approximately one-to-two weeks, pending construction progress.

Council said every effort would be made to maintain access to private properties during construction and asked road users and pedestrians to follow all signage, detours and directions provided by traffic controllers.

Due to unknown services, wet weather and unforeseen circumstances, the project’s completion is now expected by the end of March 2026, weather permitting.
