This walk’s raised funds will support childhood dementia research in addition to local support for people living with dementia and their carers within Campaspe and Greater Shepparton council areas. Mick is aiming to raise $20,000, and every $ counts. Get in touch today to join Mick’s fight against dementia by visiting www.gofund.me/33fa3840 or call KCLC on 5852 0000.

Mick Simpson’s advocacy for dementia started with his own diagnosis in 2018. Mick has started a dementia support group and dementia alliance in the Goulburn Valley to support the growing number of people being diagnosed with dementia that are trying to navigate community with this ‘new normal’.

In 2022 Mick was honoured to receive both Senior of the Year honours and Campaspe Citizen of the Year honours to mark the work he has been undertaking to support people within our community living with this disease and live productive, connected and positive lives.
