Victoria’s “circuit-breaker” five-day lockdown will end at midnight tonight, but some restrictions will remain, Premier Daniel Andrews announced this morning.

“I am very pleased to announce… restrictions will come off at midnight tonight,” he said.

“I am very proud of every Victorian for the sacrifice they have made and all the people working on delivering this outcome.”

Nearly 40,000 Victorians got tested yesterday, up from nearly 25,000 on Monday.

There were no new locally acquired cases recorded today.

Some restrictions remain.

A household is only allowed five visitors per day – down from 15 previously.

Outdoor public gatherings with friends and family are limited to 20.

“Masks will continue to be a big part of our defence and will be required everywhere indoors except at home – at the supermarket, at the office, at the pub when you’re getting up to pay,” Mr Andrews said.

Masks will also be required outside if you can’t physically distance from others.
