THE condition of the Murray Valley Highway has been raised in parliament, with Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell urging the Minister for Road Safety to take urgent action to repair all damaged surfaces of the highway.
Ms Lovell said that the Murray Valley Highway was among the worst-rated roads in RACV’s analysis of AusRAP data, which identified 52 dangerous highway sections in Victoria.

The Murray Valley Highway is a key route for freight vehicles and tourists visiting the Murray, and road repairs are vital for the safety of both motorists and trucks transporting goods.
“Victorians deserve smooth and safe roads when travelling through the regions, but sections of the Murray Valley Highway have been left damaged for years and are putting drivers’ lives in danger,” said Ms Lovell.
“Despite announcing so-called ‘road repair blitzes’ in the last two budgets, the Allan Labor Government has failed to significantly improve the state of the regional road network. The Minister must act immediately to repair all damaged sections of the Murray Valley Highway.”
