
For the first time, telco coverage maps must follow the same rules, giving Australians clearer and consistent information about network coverage. Customers can now compare networks on a genuine like-for-like basis, showing where their phone will work, not just where it might pick up a faint signal.
In simple terms: if the map says you have coverage, your phone should work. The new regulator-backed maps now require mobile operators to show where customers can expect good, moderate, basic or no coverage when they enter an address.
