Old cars gather for weekend of fun

AMERICAN SALOON CAR... Mary Coad and her 1951 Buick Straight

The GV Hospice Rallye has once more taken shape on a beautiful weekend in the countryside.

47 vehicles ranging from the very old and very slow to the very new and very fast were registered to start carrying 127 people.

The route was over 600km and took a couple of days along with a number of refreshment stops on the way. The early part of the drive was flat Goulburn Valley country side and progressed into more scenic and hilly regions as it circled around Kyneton and onto Hepburn Springs for an overnight stop.

A stop at Flowerdale Estate on the return trip saw the awarding of perpetual trophy to Murray and Jenny Yuille for clean sheeting their rallye card along with a fund-raising raffle sponsored by the Prentice family, Tom Garrett and Central Tyres Service.
Overall, the rallye produced $49,570 to be contributed to the GV Hospice.
