Olympian shares with Shepparton

TICKETS are on sale today for a special event where locals will hear from esteemed Australian cyclist, Anna Meares OAM.

Anna is regarded as one of the greatest Australian cyclists of all time and she made Olympic history in Rio during the 2016 Games, being the first and only Aussie athlete from any sport to have ever won individual medals at four consecutive Olympic Games.

During her 15-year career, Anna Meares collected 18 gold medals and 10 bronze at Olympic, World and Commonwealth levels. She was Australia’s flag bearer and team captain at Rio, she joined Channel 7’s commentary team for the Toyko Olympics 2020/1, a position she has also filled for the Santos Tour Down Under since 2017.

In retirement from sport, Anna pursued many passions including foster care, charitable endeavours and she will be strongly present in the team for Australia in 2022, as the general manger for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Shepparton Chamber of Commerce and Industry have partnered with GV BRaIN to present an evening with Anna Meares on Wednesday, August 17, from 6pm at The Woolshed at Emerald Bank.

Tickets go on sale today, Wednesday July 27 through Riverlinks. Tickets are $110 ($100 for Chamber members).
