30 schools across 344 campuses will share in more than $8M to clear vegetation around buildings well ahead of the dangerous season thanks to State Government funding through Bushfire Vegetation Grants.
Primary schools on the Bushfire at Risk Register will receive funding, including Guthrie Street PS, Mooroopna North PS, Toolamba PS, Wunghnu PS, Currawa Primary School and Longwood PS.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll said funding will mostly go to schools in regional Victoria where families need this protection most.
“It’s never too early to prepare for bushfire season, so Labor is stepping in to protect school communities well before bushfire season begin,” said Mr Carroll.
