Shepparton local, Madi Healey, has won her third Finke Desert Race. The gun racer crossed the finish line on her KTM 450SXF after 05:16:04.443 on her bike. Over 20 minutes faster than her nearest rival.
The iconic two-day off-road motorsport event, known as “the King of the Desert,” the Finke Desert Race is a gruelling 460-km race along the old Ghan railway line, spanning from Alice Springs to the remote Aputula (Finke) community and back.

This year’s Finke marked the 50th-anniversary event, and more than 150 cars and 670 motorbikes competed, making it the biggest in the competition’s history.
The event was marred by the tragic loss of a motorbike rider after a crash on day one of the race. The death is being investigated by NT Police.
