IN the Goulburn Valley statistics reveal that between 60-80 women per year are at risk of unborn reports, with a high rate of child protection being called at the time of birth. This results in the removal of the baby, from the mother’s care, until she can demonstrate parenting abilities.

Caroline Chisholm Society have specialised services in pregnancy, early parenting, and family support, which are recognised programs as significant early interventions for families or primary caregivers who may be at risk of child protection involvement.

As part of the Westpac Safer Children, Safer Communities grant, the Caroline Chisholm Society have just secured a three year $600K grant investment, which will help deliver on much needed services for mothers at vulnerable times, in their parenting and family journey.

‘We are so grateful for this grant and alliance and opportunities to come together with other local services, to provide stronger outcomes for families and children here in Shepparton,’ said Caroline Chisholm Society CEO, Jennifer Webber.
