Rehoming brumbies an achievable project

I wish to take issue with the final sentence of The Adviser’s article, ‘Horses on traditional land, whose culture is it anyway?’ (The Adviser, March 17)

The claim that the project to develop a 300-acre property to house brumbies has stalled is incorrect.
The property has been leased, fencing is to occur next weekend, and $74,000 was raised by supporters in little over a month. Not at all unachievable.

There also could have been emphasis on other aspects that Parks Victoria do not prioritise, such as removal of noxious weeds, the NP’s acres of dead wood, track deterioration and the fact that Moira Grass is in decline because of flooding at the wrong times of the year.

Also, the Yorta Yorta are not the traditional owners – as per a court case. The Government spins this line however.

Otherwise, fairly balanced.
