MIETTA Innes-Irons has been selected on the Australian Para Dressage Team at this year’s World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany.
Mietta and her horse Helmut, along with the rest of the Australian Team, will depart for Europe in late July for two weeks of training and preparation before heading to Aachen for the World Equestrian Games, held from August 11 to 23.

Mietta began riding at age four and by the time she was 11 was competing in Grade One eventing, A Grade show jumping at pony club, and one-star eventing in open competition, before a horse fell on her in 2017, resulting in a spinal injury from L3–S1 and spinal cord torsion.
Highs and lows are the hallmark of Mietta’s story. Working hard to get back in the saddle, she has overcome many injuries and setbacks since that first injury. Through it all, she never lost sight of her goal to continue riding and compete in the World Equestrian Games.
