THE final stamp has been put on Seven Creeks Estate, Kialla, with the creation of a new junior-sized football oval that will serve as a vibrant community hub for residents and entry statement to Shepparton.
The Cormorant Reserve extension project was delivered by Development Edge, the developers behind Seven Creeks Estate and many other successful communities in the Goulburn Valley.
Construction of the oval is now complete, with a white picket fence surrounding the junior AFL playing field, basketball half court, public toilets, a picnic area with drinking fountains, shared pathways and parking.
Temporary fencing is expected to be removed once the grass on the oval has established, ensuring its long-term viability.
Development Edge Director, Michael Lewis, said creating this high-level community asset was always part of the long-term vision for Seven Creeks, and a project he personally takes a lot of pride in.

“We had always planned on delivering this kind of infrastructure for the estate. Building livability into our developments is important to us at Development Edge,” he said.
“As someone who has always been passionate about sports as well, it personally means a lot to me that we’ve been able to deliver this community asset in conjunction with Council.”
Beyond physical infrastructure, almost 400 trees have been planted in the reserve, which connects to an established all-abilities playground.

Mr Lewis said the trees will create a native woodland and shade canopy once established, adding to the estate’s appeal.
Seven Creeks Estate has reached its 21st and final stage, with all blocks now sold, and much of the estate developed with new houses. Many local housing developments have now reached their final stages with extremely limited land available across the region.
While Development Edge is working with government to fast-track a housing development at the former Radio Australia site in north Shepparton and address the shortfall of residential and industrial land available for development, no date has been set for when this will be approved and ready to progress.
