LAST Wednesday, November 10, GV Health chief executive, Matt Sharp updated the media about COVID-19 in Shepparton.
There were 387 active cases in Shepparton, 13 patients in GV Health and one of those patients were in intensive care but was not on a ventilation system. Around 10-12 people enter the hospital system daily showing symptoms.

To date there has been 155,000 vaccinations administered between GV Health and their partner health services around the region, and just over 80,000 doses through the Macintosh Centre at the Shepparton Showgrounds.

There was a strong mention around the issue of people getting symptoms and waiting three days to get tested. “There are plenty of testing clinics available for this not to be put off, the longer people have symptoms and remain in the community the further the virus can spread, some general practices are now even offering testing so if people get symptoms they need to get tested immediately,” said GV Health chief executive, Matt Sharp.

Statistics are now showing that 95% of Shepparton residents have had their first vaccination with over 95% having had two.

“The vaccination statistics have really moved forward in an encouraging rate but there is still a number of people that need to be vaccinated. For the people who are still making that decision please rely on creditable sources like your health professionals and not social media,” said GV Health chief executive, Matt Sharp.
