IF doctor’s could prescribe a pill that was effective in managing weight, reducing dementia, improving balance, memory and strength, people would be lining up for it! The good news is, such a remedy exists, and as locals from the Shepparton Social Sequence Dance Group know, it is a whole lot of fun.

Dancing offers a range of impressive physical and mental benefits says instructor Gail Cook, who has led classes at the Senior Citizens Centre for several years. There are also social benefits, keeping participants busy on the dance floor and in their social lives.

The group meets for practice every Wednesday, 1-4pm, at the Senior Citizens Centre. They also host concerts the second Sunday of each month. October’s concert is a fundraiser for the ‘I Care for Cancer Care @ GV Health’.
