VOLKSWAGEN re-wrote the rule book of the burgeoning 4×4 ute market in 2010, by becoming the first mainstream European brand to build a premium product being the Amarok Ute.
Today, the Amarok V6 TDI is the image of a tough, uncompromisingly powerful ute with effortless 3.5-tonne towing capacity and good looks to match.
Shepparton Volkswagen dealer principal, Ewan Schultz (who drives an Amarok himself), said the main appeal of the Amarok comes from the VW Group’s powerful 3.0 litre V6 Turbo Diesel engine (also used in the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, and VW Touareg).
“It’s a premium ute and the most powerful ute in its class by a large margin,” he said.
“Its V6 engine and 8-speed gearbox means it pulls a caravan or trailer with ease and can basically take you anywhere.”
Inside, being the widest ute in the class the Amarok boasts plenty of space for five passengers and your belongings. It even fits a pallet between the wheel arches.
