Students to be awarded

YOUNG people across the North Central and Hume regions have had a taste of the opportunity found in being creative, after having their artworks on display in Shepparton Art Museum this past month that doors have been open.

Current exhibitions at SAM include Lin Onus: The Land Within, Amrita Hepi: A Call to Echo, Brown Pots, Everyday Australian Design: Functional Design from the Ian Wong Collection, and more. For the full list of exhibitions, please go to:

sheppartonartmuseum.com.au/whats-on/now-showing.The community art space, which is currently displaying works created by years 11 and 12 VCE Studio Arts and Visual Communication Design students from 14 schools regional schools, has gained much praise.

Tonight, at an awards ceremony held at SAM, awards will be presented to one student in each of the categories: Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Photography and Digital Media.

Elizabeth Capp, head of La Trobe University, Shepparton will present the awards, alongside artist, Jason Phu and educator from the National Gallery of Victoria, David Menzies, as judges.
