MORE than 400 people converged on Shepparton’s Sports City on Saturday eveing, December 19, to watch a charity exhibition match between the GV Suns and the Shepparton All-Stars.
Money raised through the gold-coin entry to the match went towards Shepparton’s People Supporting People charity, which raises money for local soup kitchens and other people in need.
More than $1,000 was raised as a result of the match. The GV Suns proved too strong, however, holding the wood over the All-Stars in an entertaining 90 minutes of some of the region’s best soccer players.
The show-down now has the possibility of becoming an annual event.
