ON Monday November 22, Melbourne Football Club fans flocked to the Shepparton Marketplace to catch a glimpse and get a photo with the AFL Premiership Cup. Long-time supporter Ann Worcester was one of those fans.
Ann who has been a supporter for sixty years still remembers their last win fifty-three years ago when she was in form five at school. This year she celebrated at home alongside her husband and their daughter in front of the big screen TV and was ecstatic with the result.
“It’s excellent to see so many supporters here today, I didn’t realise they had such a big following in Shepparton, it’s amazing, I will remember this forever,” said Ann.
