2020 will best be remembered as the year students did much of their work from home while being locked down due to the pandemic.

But isolation did not prevent some of our local students from attaining among the highest scores in the state.

Each of the main colleges in Shepparton afforded a Dux, the top pupil in the school for the year. Goulburn Valley Grammar School student, Ashima Tyagi scored 99.6 on her ATARs, only 0.2 off the highest in the state. Ash looks forward to studying medicine next year.

With an equally impressive score, Greater Shepparton Secondary College student Olivia Gullick was top of her year and said, “I thought I had done well but being Dux was quite a surprise.” Olivia is seeking a placement to study physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Bendigo.

Also, from Greater Shepparton Secondary College, Claire Hardy took honours in the VCAL stream and is looking to establish herself in youth services study at GOTAFE.
From Notre Dame Secondary College, Mitchell Gladigou was their top student and is proposing to study biomedical engineering at Monash University.
