AFTER a successful 2022 season, Shepparton Athletics Track is preparing for their biggest season yet. Among the club’s achievements this year, it boasted four representatives at the Australian Track and Field Championships in Sydney, with two National finalists from the club – Jack Abbruzzese in the U14 Mens 90-metre Hurdles and Renee Ford the U14 Womens Long Jump.
Club president Doug Cobbledick credits the success of the small club to its friendly atmosphere and the fact the sport has something to offer everyone, “We welcome anyone who wants to give athletics a go, no matter your ability or reasons for joining.
“We have athletes who are running for fitness, seasoned athletes striving to make it to State and National level and athletes who are happy to compete at club level and learn new skills.”he said.
The club will open its athletics season on Friday, October 7, 6pm at the Shepparton Athletics Track on Nurmurkah Road, Shepparton. Anyone who wants to know more or to come try is encouraged to contact the club for more information.
