Since its 2002 inception in Paris, White Night has seen cities, both metropolitan and regional, transform into an art spectacular, with each event tailored to reflect each cities’ distinct passions and characteristics.

White Night lights will visit Shepparton for the first time on Saturday 25 June, in a spectacular visual display across the community. This one-night-only all ages event will run from 6pm through till midnight.

Enriched with a celebration of art and culture to showcase Shepparton’s history, White Night will transform the city through 28 large-scale illuminations, projections, live music and interactive works from talented local, national and international artists.

Local artists featured include Mimi Leung, Aunty Frances Nicholson, Tori Day, Tahnee Day and Dylan Charles, whose light installations, visual art projections and designs will be seen across Shepparton’s cultural spaces.

White Night Shepparton Artistic Director Andrew Walsh AM spoke of how the event will be a major drawcard to our region and how each event is distinctly unique to where it is held.

“More than a third of artists are Shepparton-based, presenting their works on a scale they’ve never done before. There will also be international artists, it is a great mix of lots of local talent and those from outside the region,” said Mr Walsh

“SAM will be open in the evening also, so those who may not have had a chance to visit yet will be able to enjoy all it has to offer.”
