A COLOURFUL new youth mural has been unveiled at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton, telling the story of the rainbow serpent.
Artist Tammy Lee Atkinson created the mural over two weeks with her sister Wendy-Sue Atkinson.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said the mural reflects on the exceptional talent and creativity coming from the youth in our region.
“The Greater Shepparton Youth Committee have worked hard to put this mural together, as a reflection of what represents them. They have taken inspiration from our diverse region, linking the mural back to Country,” she said.
“I encourage all residents and visitors to get down to Victoria Park Lake and enjoy the wonderful artwork.”
The mural was funded through the Victorian Government’s Engage Fund, which aims to support youth projects. It is located on the side of the stage near the skate park at Victoria Park Lake.
